Amateur Cities is an online publishing platform on alternative ways of city making presented critically. It aims to connect city thinkers to city makers.Amateur Cities publishes articles that collect, analyse and clarify contemporary urban and technological development interesting for learning cities anew – not as masters, but as amateurs. It provides a platform for a dialogue on urban collective intelligence by presenting side-by-side theoretical and practical voices. It stimulates cross-sector exchange by engaging experts from architecture, urbanism, art, science, information technology, media, sociology and philosophy.

The Architecture Advisory Committee advises on applications for project grants through the Grant Programme for Architecture.

The Site Magazine is the leading independent journal of contemporary architecture, landscape, urbanism, and design in Canada. Our name acknowledges the shifting value-system on contemporary architecture and urbanism’s relationship to context: globalized and digitized, speculative and transgressive, “Site” lacking prefix (or ready to accept any offered) represents the valuable and often radical investigations, narratives, and scholarship that we publish.

Implementing Digital Archive is a second tire of research leading to the implementation of a digital archive for the architecture collection of Het Nieuwe Instituut. It looks at the changes caused by progressing digitalisation that over the last decades have affected the profession of the architect in order to prepare new policies, workflows and shape the institutional approach to collecting born-digital material in architecture. The research is conducted in close collaboration with a number of local architecture offices that fall under the criteria of acquisition policy of HNI and that have seen the emergence of the digital tools in their own practice mostly since the early late 80’s and early 90s.

During the 3 month residency in Vilnius I researched the role of open form as a structural and conceptual tool for the creation of artefacts and the production of space. The research project which I started at Rupert focuses on exploring the possibilities of cross-fertilisation between the spatial practice and other disciplines that could offer novel perspectives for the culture of the city.

The Wgt Factory (T?F) is a think-tank on Future Cities led by Winy Maas based at the Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft. My work at MVRDV concentrated on curatorial and design tasks related to concept development and project management for MVRDV's contribution to 13th Venice Architecture Biennale as well as practical organisation and project coordination.
