Fostering holistic and personalised learning experiences, social responsibility and helping decision-makers simplify technological complexity in education. Should education be proactive or reactive in order to develop individuals who are well-rounded and contribute to a fair, just and tolerant society? My experience of teaching STEAM, Algorithmic Thinking and Ethics has shown that my students have been very well-equipped to address the problems facing humanity in society and in the workplace today.Experiences centre on:-* teaching Computer Science, Ethics and English to IBDP Level* developing learner-centric resources and content* developing blended and personalised learning experiences* the use of student ePortfolios to share, reflect and grow learnersResults include:-* Centralised journeys of action, reflection and evaluation* Experiential and memorable learning* Engagement* Creative, meaningful and deeper learning* Raised standards and attainmentMy teaching background:-Digital Humanities to Masters level (information literacy, media literacy, ethics, creativity, problem-solving communications and collaboration) – ePortfolio implementation with a range of digital tools to a professional standard using best practice design principles.Information/computational science to undergraduate level – Business Intelligence, social media analytics, data visualisationAcademic writing to Masters level – conducting research, teaching critical literacy, referencing, functional grammar, coherence and cohesion, developing insightful ideas and value-adding to research.My Masters dissertation gave me the opportunity to investigate data visualisation and technologies - Dean`s List recipient (top 1%).I try to develop process-driven approaches common to both the arts and sciences to spark self-actualisation, exploration of ideas and documentation of them. I support the A (Arts) in STEM as I know the arts has the power to act as social connectors and humanise our environments making our experiences satisfying and meaningful.
