Prospera is an economic development, nonprofit organization established in 1991, with offices in Florida (Orlando, Miami, Tampa), North Carolina (Charlotte), and Atlanta, GA. Prospera's services are especially designed for Hispanic entrepreneurs and small business owners, to empower them through entrepreneurial seminars in Spanish, individual consulting, grants for professional services, and access to capital. We leverage public and private funds, and complement the services that exist in Atlanta metro area's entrepreneurial ecosystem. We collaborate with chambers of commerce and other economic development organizations to strengthen local businesses, foster job retention and creation, and generate more equity and prosperity among minorities.

The Latin American Association is the largest and oldest organization serving the needs of Metro Atlanta's Latino community. It empowers Latino individuals and families to adapt, integrate and thrive as members of the Greater Atlanta community. Serving over 44,000 individuals each year, the LAA provides Family Services, Employment Services, Domestic Violence Legal Services, Immigration Legal Services, Education and Language Programs, Women Empowerment Initiative, Youth Programs and Advocacy. UNO-Georgia researches Latino voter demographic trends; Educates the community at large, and calls the public to action around key issues impacting Hispanics and their communities. The Latino population in Georgia, approaching one million and growing at a 3% annual rate is quickly becoming an important part of Georgia's electorate. UNO-Georgia will focused on identifying, engaging and mobilizing Latino voters.

Responsible for all business aspects of the newspaper including editorial, advertising, marketing, circulation, IT and Finance. MundoHispanico is Greater Atlanta's leading source of news and information about and for the Hispanic community with a 200,000 weekly readership. The portfolio of publications includes Paginas Amarillas (Yellow Pages) de MundoHispanico, La Zona, a weekly zoned edition and the magazines Padres & Hijos (Parenting), Mundo Salud (Health) and Mundo Legal (Legal). These magazines launched under my leadership were immediately profitable and filled a need in the market. Developed the digital products mundohispanico.com and more recently alamitad.com a website for half off deals catering primarily to the Hispanic audience. Our social media strategy has resulted with a continous growing Facebook followers. Under my tenure MundoHispanico's leadership position was validated by numerous research results and recognized with a record number of The Jose Marti National Awards for excellence in Journalism.MundoHispanico is a business unit of Cox Media Group.

Responsible for both the editorial and business operations of Hoy New York, a daily newspaper targeting the NYC Hispanic community. Restored credibility in the marketplace and successfully converted to a free controlled distribution model, grew readership by 30% and reversed a revenue slide.

Responsible for the Advertising and Marketing activities of the Orlando Sentinel zone editions in Volusia, Lake and Osceola counties. Served or led numerous project teams that developed new initiatives resulting in increased coverage, readership and revenue. Under my leadership and tenure these zone editions experienced annual double digit revenue growth. In 2001 headed the project team that that launched El Sentinel, a weekly newspaper for the growing Hispanic population in Central Florida. It has become a successful and integral product of Orlando Sentinel Communications with a circulation of 100,000 copies.

After holding various positions form Sales Representative, Product Manager (Bogota, Colombia) and Caribbean Regional Manager (San Juan, PR) and contributing to the growth of the company became Managing Director for McGraw-Hill Latinoamericana, based in Panama. Responsible for the financial, marketing, distribution and publishing activities for Central, South America and the Caribbean. Reporting to to the MD were the General Managers of the Venezuela, Colombia, Caribbean companies, the Export Division and the Group Comptroller. Managed this unit during a period of economic and political challenges in the region. It successfully gained market share and McGraw-Hill became the dominant U.S. educational and professional publisher in this important market/region.
