Creative Producer on Kinetika’s nationwide Beach of Dreams project

It is about believing everyone can be brilliant.

Freelance Creative Producer for Junk Poet, a company specialising in building immersive worlds forfestivals and outdoor events. My focus has been on developing and delivering opportunities forCaravanserai, a world made from repurposed fairground rides, caravans and beautifully reimaginedobjects. The largest achievement has been securing its presence as a month-long pop-up venue at theBrighton Fringe which included 2 indoor venues (220 and 50 capacity), 3 bars, food traders, box officefor the entire Fringe, outdoor circus and street performance spaces and an outdoor busking stage. Inaddition to working as the Creative Producer I worked as Venue Producer programming and curating allthe spaces. The venue received outstanding feedback in Brighton, the creative was delivered on timeand within the £200,000 budget which I managed.

GALWAD was one of the major commissions as part of the UK wide Unboxed Festival. It was a storytold in real time over seven days through multiple medias - online, on television and through a majorlive event finale. Conceived as a new kind of tri-lingual, real-time storytelling, GALWAD broke newground in distributing the characters and plot of the story across over a hundred pieces of content andwas a finalist in the SXSW Innovation Awards 2023 for Immersive storytelling. I was one of threeProduction Managers on the project with my focus being on both filmed elements in Merthyr Tydfil andthe major site specific, outdoor finale event in Blaenau Ffestiniog across multiple sites including acrossabandoned and functioning slate quarries.

Production Manager overseeing delivery of all creative elements of The Third Day, Autumn: a 12 hourlive immersive cinematic BAFTA nominated event captured in one continuous take co-produced by SkyStudios, Plan B Entertainment and Punchdrunk. Autumn was screened in between the 6 episodes ofSummer and Winter on Sky Atlantic. I was responsible for supporting the delivery of all Punchdrunkcreative teams including Design, Costume, Creative and Build as well as external partners includingPyro, Stunts, Marine and SFX and held responsibility for the overall Production Budget (£500,000). Iwas responsible in co-ordinating the major transition from a live event to a live filmed event from aProduction perspective under tight timescales due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I was responsible forworking alongside our H&S and site partners to devise and implement our Covid-19 policy to allow theproject to proceed safely and prevent any potential outbreaks on site during the midst of the pandemicon a complex and unique project involving 300 people on a challenging site, an island in an estuary ofEssex only accessible by causeway for four out of every twelve hours and by boat.

Event production and programming company specialising in creative, artist and design led multidisciplinary events and happenings.Creative Brain can create spectacular, unique and quirky events from conception, production and staging through to completion. With a team and network full of mind bogglingly talented creatives and artists we are able to programme and curate events, stages and festivals providing innovate programming working with partners to help develop concepts and themes or enhance existing ideas. Our multidisciplinary background means we can assist with music, theatre, circus, interactive and curious programming.We love working with others and helping bring ideas together.

Creative Youth runs the International Youth Arts Festival, the largest youth arts festival in the UK. It also enables young people to realise their potential through the arts and develops young people by equipping them with the skills and confidence to succeed in business and the arts.I established the International Youth Arts Festival from its inception and as Artistic Director for the charity:- Developed the International Youth Arts Festival over 6 years, from 500 participants in its first year (2009) to an average of 5000 participants between 2012 - 2014 (23,000 young people have been involved since inception)- Developed relationships with funders, corporate sponsors, the local authority, Kingston First (BID), Kingston University and trusts and foundations, ensuring the festival has broken even every year (turnover 2013-2014 was £232,000)- Developed the ethos of the organisation and creative direction by choosing to focus on year round support and mentoring of young people in both artistic and business skills allowing the future generations of arts entrepreneurs to flourish- Created a clear artistic vision for the festival, celebrating a combination of traditional art-forms with contemporary, surprising and unique events with a focus on outdoor, celebratory activity in a variety of mediums.- Developed a model allowing young people control of every area of the charity and related festival whilst ensuring an exceptional level of quality in the work. Young people are given opportunities in project management, marketing and press, design and branding etc as well as all performance related roles.- Developed an inspiring volunteering programme that has engaged over 120 young volunteers in 2014.- Developed a commissioning arm to the charity by delivering bespoke, creative events (mainly outdoor events) and generating income for the organisation.
