Hi there, I’m Anika, and I’m the owner of Sneaky Keys.We are a growing business that teaches the next generation of creative minds how to sing, play the piano, and create their own music.My experience learning music as a child in the traditional manner left me unfulfilled. I wanted to learn the songs I enjoyed listening to (on the radio - and CD’s!). When I was first teaching in my early twenties, I was doing so in the same way I learnt, and never really enjoyed.In August 2019, after much deliberation, research and the support of my team, we rebranded and started teaching our very own music program.We believe learning music in the right environment has so many benefits for young, impressionable minds – improved motor skills, memory, mindset + emotional intelligence development, social skills, problem solving ability and improved mood are just the tip of the iceberg.Our ‘Sneaky Music Method’ allows us to teach in a group environment, with flexibility to switch between classes so that no child is left behind or feeling bored if they’re putting in more practice than their peers.The music we use ranges from our own Sneaky Keys Originals, to Popular Covers, and genre-bending Mashups we’ve arranged to inspire our students.Technology integrations have allowed us to better communicate ideas with our students, and more importantly better structure for their home practice.Lastly, we teach with a focus on developing a Growth Mindset. This helps our students to problem-solve better and overcome challenges in their musical pursuits.
