At the age of 12 years old, I found my mission in life when I first joined the Kiwanis Family. Within my first week of joining Builders Club, I knew that servant leadership was what I wanted to devote my life to. Reflecting on it now, I realize that there were countless times over the past 10 years that I have felt discouraged, overwhelmed, or completely helpless. However, each time my personal values and mission have encouraged me to persevere and accomplish my goals. This has enabled me to realize that I am the person who never gives up. Once I have a cause to fight for or a goal to reach, I will keep working to support that cause and achieve that goal. Now, I understand that perseverance, strong values, and a hunger to engage in my community are valuable assets I have developed over time. Each of these traits has enabled me to strengthen my keen eye for detail, creative mindset, and time-management abilities for the betterment of my local and global communities.
