Independent practice, where I work with clients virtually and in-person to develop a healthy relationship with food. My practice focuses with individuals chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, IBS), GI conditions, and eating disorders.

Contract position with Orange Lily Group. Orange Lily Group is a collective of Registered Dietitian's serving Southern Ontario's Long Term Care homes. The philosophies of Orange Lily Group look at sustainability, patient-centred care, and a holistic approach to LTC.Currently Contracted with Arbour Creek Care Centre, Hamilton, ON

Working in partnership with Maiya Ahluwalia, RD to bring clients a food-focused, weight inclusive approach to their nutrition needs. I provide nutrition counselling, workshops, and support for a diverse populations.

Home and community care Dietitian, managing patient nutrition post-discharge from hospital/institutionalized facilities, EN feeding management, nutritional supplement knowledge and funding, collaborating with interdisciplinary team (OT, PT, SLP, SW) and communicating with regulating body (HNHB/LHIN).

Juravinski Hospital (inpatient)/GI-Oncology: a variety of patients within a busy ward environment, working with Crohn's Disease, small bowel obstructions, nephrostomy tubes, colostemy/ileostomy bags, TPN, EN, esophageal cancer, metastatic cancers, and cirrhosis (NALD and ALD). Educated patients with resources looking at 2g Na diets, low residue, and more. West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (inpatient): Acute care with patients who are primarily 65+, working with texture modifications, EN, and various co-morbidities. Examined various malnutrition screening tools, including SGA and swallowing assessments.Hamilton General Hospital Management: I implemented a new menu items onto the Hamilton General Menu. I presented a framework surrounding cultural competence to various stakeholders and am working implement onto wards across HHS using CQI/A3 formatting.Bridges Community Health Centre (health promotion/diabetes): This rotation was focused around Diabetes/Outpatient care/Population Health, I counselled many clients regarding diabetes management where I developed nutrition care plans for patients and provided insight on healthy eating strategies. I also presented 11 presentations during this rotation, six of which were focused around diet trends (IF, Mediterranean, GF, MIND, KETO, and Anti-Diet/Intuitive Eating), four were related to other client suggestions (food & mood X2, comfort food, food waste), and a presentation for the primary healthcare team looking at the 2020 Obesity Guidelines.Hamilton General Hospital (inpatient)/Neurosurgery: As in an intern I was involved in patient care and nutrition support strategies. I primarily designed Enteral feeding strategies and worked with patients in critical care neurosurgery patients (ex. SDH, SAH, brain tumours).Research: Arsenic levels in rice-based products consumed by Celiac Disease patients under 18 years of age. I created methodology, consent forms, recruitment strategies, and wrote a literature review.

Qualitative research project examining a potential sugar-sweetened beverage excise tax in India and Canada. Working under Dr. Natalie Riediger, PhD

I received the QES Scholarship and was placed in Dharwad, Karnataka, India for a qualitative research project on attitudes and beliefs towards a potential excise tax in Dharwad, Karnataka. I presented my project in October 2018 at the Undergraduate Student Research Poster Contest (U of Manitoba), where I was awarded with the second place prize in Social Sciences.
