People Generalist
CurrentRecruiting:Working with the People Resources Manager to implement and maintain an effective and comprehensive recruiting process that meets Swords’ commitment to DEI and cultural humility across all areas of the organization. Providing support, as needed, to managers and the People resources Manager on writing and editing job descriptions.Researching and developing a comprehensive list of job posting sites Identifying and attending career fairs and establishing and maintaining a community and college recruiting relationships.Creating and tracking a robust talent pipeline. Ensure Kronos is updated and applications are removed after one year. Helping managers check references when asked, coaching managers on making verbal offers, writing offer letters and coordinating with candidates to conduct post-offer background checks.Coaching managers on interviewing basics and interview matrix use.Onboarding and Offboarding:Working with the People Resources Manager and People and Culture Director to develop and implement a comprehensive, new onboarding process.Managing the full onboarding cycle for each new employee, including supporting managers during their employees’ transition into Swords.Benefits:Administering employee benefits (e.g., insurance, workers’ compensation, retirement plan and COBRA) and time off, including leaves of absence. Managing leaves of absence, including FMLA/CFRA, CA Disability and PFL programs. Answering employee benefit questions, reconciling invoices, calculating premium co-payments and communicating information to payroll.Helping new employees enroll in benefits and answering questions. Working with the People Resources Manager to evaluate current benefits and suggest changes and new benefits. Ensuring that benefits meet employee needs and align with Swords’ commitment to equity.
