Resident Assistant (RA) is a registered part-time student employee who lives and interacts with his or her peers in a residence hall or apartment complex. I serve as a Resident Assistant at Valparaiso University where my responsibilities include:- Serving as a peer role model, resource, mentor, and counselor to 63 residents through routine checkups- Promoting a positive intellectual, emotional, and social living environment for students living on campus by encouraging student involvement- Conducting rounds to ensure the safety and security of residents by confronting and documenting policy violations- Collaborating with team members to put on social, cultural, and educational programs to build community and enhance residents’ college living experience
