I thought I had landed a dream job-fresh out of engineering college (Yr 2010) in procurement function only to realize how thankless the job was. Thanks to manual tedious processes and primitive ERP systems- I was getting very less done by putting a lot more effort. With a pinch of guilt and a dash of demotivation, I moved to sales in a year's time and did not look back up until last few months. Recently, while recruiting a purchase manager and interviewing few candidates, I released that not much has changed since my last hand at procurement. On contrary, our sales profession has evolved dramatically in last decade. Having spoken to many friends and procurement professionals since, I decided to get into driver's seat. I have quit my sales career to make a long lasting impact in procurement by building some thing so awesome that no 21 year old ever gives up on a dream job.I am joining a league of a few but pioneers of some sort who are building great companies in this space. There are now more tailwinds than ever. There is plethora of problems to be solved. I have assembled a small team and we will be testing few of our hypotheses.
