    As CEO of the Company I had the privilege of turning around a loss making Company to Profitability. Few of the important initiatives taken is listed for your information and perusal.1) Reduced Variable Costs by around 18% .2) Reduced electrical energy consumption by around 30% due to which JSW Cement received the Bureau Of Energy Efficiency award for 2016 for the Cement Sector.3) Improved Product Quality and Brand Perception.Improved Product pricing. 4) Rationalised marketing cost thereby saving around 10% of the marketing spend. Also Increased sales productivity which in turn help us control our marketing staff spends.5) Increased the Blended Cement ratio from 45% to around 90% .6)Reduced Logistic Costs by rationalisation of dumps/ modes/routes.7) Operated the Cement Grinding RollerPress in the Finish Mode a first in the world thereby improving product quality and reducing variable costs.As a consequence of the above actions the EBIDTA per ton increased from Rs 25 in the FY 13-14 to Rs 900 in the FY 16-17. EBIDTA as a percentage of sales was ranging between 19% on the lower side to 23% on the higher side.The absolute EBIDTA figures also increased from Rs 45 crores in FY 13-14 to Rs 315 crores in the FY 16-17.8) During this period the Company undertook a large capacity expansion by adding 4 units of 1.2 million tons per annum at various locations in South and East India thereby increasing the installed capacity to 12.0 million tons .One grinding unit of 1.2 million tons per annum capacity was constructed and commissioned in a record time of 15 months .At the end I would like to state that none of the above could have been possible without the backing of a motivated and energetic team of professional who wanted to do the Impossible.

I was instrumental in increasing the plants clinkerising capacity by around 25% without any investment by carrying out the debottlenecking / process optimisation. Thermal and Electrical consumption was reduced by around 10% resulting in substantial cost savings.

The following initiatives helped us achieve the desired results 1) Process Optimisation led the plant to improve the clinkerising capacity from 3300tpd to 4500tpd and also reduction in Thermal and electrical consumption.2) Improving the plant run factor from 250 days to 330days of continuous operations.3) Reduced the Company's workforce from 1200 nod to 150nos ( Workmen + Officer's & Supervisors)The above initiatives took six months to fructify and from the seventh month onwards the plant started breaking even.Due to the success achieved in turning around the Company , I was awarded the Chairman's Award for Outstanding Contribution in the year 2005.
