Transferred across from WTW to Innovisk Capital Partners as the Head of Corporate Strategy / Finance.Helped the business take the next step in its evolution with its private equity buy-out from WTW - a significant milestone - growing the business from start-up to an independent standalone entity outside of a large corporate. This included development of the business case for outside investment, preparation of the Confidential Information Memorandum used in management presentations, management of the due diligence process and responding to buyer queries.Post deal completion, managed the relationship with the new investors including agreeing strategic priorities and objectives and attending Board meetings and key strategic reviews. Additionally, setup the Innovisk finance function outside of WTW including ensuring the team was sufficiently built-out both onshore and offshore (India) as well as implementing robust processes and controls to deliver timely and insightful financial information enhancing executive management decision making and fulfilling external regulatory requirements.Continue to drive dialogue with the PE investors in terms of strategy, growth objectives, optimisation of the portfolio and delivery of financial performance targets to maximise future growth potential and valuation.

Hired to be part of the core team to launch, develop and grow Innovisk Capital Partners (a newly created subsidiary and start-up business of WTW) – a keystone innovation initiative seeking to bring commercial insureds and risk capital closer together by building underwriting platforms that harness advancements in technology and data.Worked with executive management to develop the detailed business case including a review of the competitive landscape, internal revenue and cost synergies, technology and data capabilities and comprehensive financial modelling and scenario analysis to evaluate likely future profitability / valuation. Culminated in securing investment approval from the WTW CEO and Board becoming one of WTW’s main group-wide innovation initiatives.Secured several additional rounds of annual funding from the WTW New Ventures Investment Committee through the preparation of detailed investment packs in order to underpin acquisitions, launch further MGAs, build out the proprietary in-house technology platform and drive business growth.Within four years the business had grown to one generating $300m+ of gross written premium becoming a Top 20 MGA globally.

Strategy and financial planning team within a fixed income asset manager.Worked with the C-suite to support business planning and strategy development including undertaking competitor analysis and applying strategic frameworks to analyse market share and growth potential across individual funds.Led project to enable BlueBay to respond to new Solvency II regulations including chairing the Solvency II Steering Committee which enabled changes in processes, procedures, and compliance frameworks across the organisation.

A deals focussed division of PwC specialising in providing buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence services to companies undertaking M&A activity mainly in the Energy, Utilities, Mining and Infrastructure sectors.Worked on the following deals, producing financial due diligence reports, reviewing SPAs and presenting findings to client senior management helping them evaluate and make commercial deal decisions:• Buy-side FDD for IFM’s acquisition of a 35% stake in Manchester Airport Group ($1bn deal value).• Business combination of Falklands Oil & Gas Ltd and Desire Petroleum plc (£61m deal value).• FDD for Harvest Energy to secure a $440m debt facility together with further private equity investment.• Lion Capital’s acquisition of GHD (£300m deal value).

A transaction focussed, sector agnostic division of PwC providing due diligence and capital market advisory services for private companies (both domestic and cross border) seeking to IPO on the London Stock Exchange. At the same time advising and assisting on M&A and other capital raising activities for already listed companies.Notable transactions:• Cornerstone member of the team delivering the £1.4bn IPO of Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation plc to the FTSE 100 managing all due diligence reports, liaising with sponsoring banks and lawyers, and managing the client relationship.• Managed and delivered the working capital report for Galliford Try plc which was critical in securing funding via a rights issue during the global financial crisis.• Following debt financed acquisition activity, worked with Premier Foods plc management to recapitalise the business via an open market equity raise. This involved deep analysis of existing working capital levels in the business.• Project managed the demerger of GUS plc into two separately publicly traded companies – Home Retail Group plc and Experian plc.
