Started as a software engineer in 1984. Joined Indian Police Service in 1988.Superannuated on 30 April 2023 as DGP (Training and Telecommunications) of UP Police. Served as the Additional Secretary to the GoI at DPIIT. Handled some of the flagship schemes of Govt of India including Startup India, e-commerce, Internal Trade, several industrial sectors and international cooperation with select geographies. Been a pioneer of major reforms at the highest levels:• Pioneered establishment of 'Open Network for Digital Commerce' for democratizing e-commerce. • Contributed to drafting the National e-Commerce policy.• Designed and implemented the very successful Production Linked Incentive Scheme for White Goods (Air Conditioners and LED Lights) with an outlay of Rs 6238 Cr. • Institutionalized the flagship program of Government of India, Startup India. The multi-dimensional approach followed has seen stirring of the entrepreneurial spirit across the country.o Numerous regulatory reforms relating to startups o A nation-wide capacity building program through ‘Ranking of States on Support to Startup Ecosystems’.o The National Startup Awards were conceived, formalized and were executed. Created an all round support system for winning startups.o Startup India Seed Fund Scheme was conceived and implemented. o Startup Champions, a show on DoorDarshan for was conceived and implemented.o Establishment of National Startup Advisory Council for institutionalized consultations with eminent startup ecosystem stakeholders. o ‘Startup India: The Way Ahead’ document defining policies and programs for the growth of Startup India was conceptualized, which was released by Hon’ble Prime Minister in January, 2021. • Previously, at UP Police, conceptualised and commissioned world’s largest emergency response system- UP100 (now UP 112) for providing prompt emergency services to 250 million citizens anytime, anywhere in the State of UP. This project has been recognised amongst top innovations in the country during Civil Services Day 2018: PM Awards for Excellence in Public Administration and Innovations.• Served as Chief of Police(SSP/SP) of many important districts in UP-Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad among others and the Special Task Force(STF). Enforced law effectively and earned Hon’ble Supreme Court’s commendation for diligent enforcement of law.• Awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service apart from many other commendations.
