About Anil Kant Choudhary

After a successful career of 30+ years in Information Technology, I am now aiming to give back to the professional community. I am intending to share my experience and extend help to individuals and organisations in their journey. I aim to contribute like a catalyst to help nurture their potential and thereby help in enabling growth. I would be happy to act as an advisor, consultant, mentor or guide.I started as a developer and finished the stint as the head of the industry sector. During this period, I worked at four IT Companies namely ITS Division of Tata Steel, Mascot System (which merged later with iGate, which eventually merged with Capgemini), Wipro Technologies and CGI. I have handled a peak annual business of nearly $50 Mn and a team size of ~1000 comprising of both direct and indirect employees.My stint includes nearly 2 years each of stay in the UK (1999 to 2001) and USA (2005 to 2007) besides multiple short trips of few days to few weeks to more than twenty countries. This exposure enables me to gather useful knowledge of the culture of people and organisations across the globe and thereby helps me understand better the unstated expectations and aspirations of global client executives and leaders.My four core areas of focus have been the Client Relationship, Profitability & Growth, Employee Development and Delivery Excellence. By the way of serving different clients across the industry sectors, I built a broad business knowledge of multiple industry domains such as Retail, Consumer Services, Utilities, Communication, Media, Entertainment, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Health Care, Investment Banking, Transportation and Logistics. During the last 15+ years, I have been engaging with the business leaders and senior executives helping them succeed in their Business Strategies and IT Initiatives. One of my key strengths has been the ability to put basic aspects of planning and management to the right use in addressing any kind of challenging situation. I tend to look beyond the stated needs thereby being able to know the underlying business imperative of the stated needs with an aim to cover unstated needs too.I have also had the opportunity to share my experience with others through talks with focused groups, through my maiden book ‘Good Decision Bad Decision’, through one-on-one and small group sessions with leaders, through panel discussions on management and leadership, through being in jury for assessing innovative ideas, and through advising a couple of startups in taking their product and services to a wider audience.
