Anil is a competent Civil and Structural Engineer with a total of 20 years of experience in heavy industrial design in Energy industries. He is proficient in designing complex steel and concrete structures for thermal-based, gas-based, combined cycle power plants, pipeline terminals, and refinery structures. He gained good knowledge in implementing various building codes along with Canadian standards such as CSA A23.3 for concrete structures, CSA S16 for steel structures, and American standards AASHTO, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC steel construction manual in engineering. Apart from his design engineering skills, Anil has played a key role in large construction engineering projects to support construction activities. Anil has played various roles on the EPCM projects progressively from design engineer, project coordinator, lead engineer, and project manager. Anil has a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a Master's degree in Business. I am a registered professional engineer in Alberta as PE in Texas and an SE with the state of Illinois.Achievements:• Consistently met my short and long-term targets (TIC $100M) on pipeline terminal projects.• Coordinated with internal/external customers for project success to minimize uncertainties and project costs.• Worked independently with no supervision from superiors.• Trained, coached, and supervised junior staff members.• Saved >$300M by installing innovative concepts for hydrant maintenance.• Implemented site-wide GPR scanning program to identify ground voids that saved cost during turnarounds.• Became a nodal point of contact for plant turnarounds.• Part of the site execution team and front-end engineering which were developed into projects subsequently.• Provided response to Field Change notices (FCN) in a short time to reduce idle time of construction crews• Successfully coordinated between HQ office and low-cost offices internationally for workshare projects.• Led as a discipline engineer for the project with high capital investments (TIC US$ 1bn).• Successfully led the team with 25 engineers and designers• Performed performance review of the sub-ordinates.• Got trained in leadership development, communication skills, presentation skills, and financial skills.• Got awards for best contribution to the department for developing knowledge repository system

Lead Structural Engineer / Project ManagerKiewit Nov 2020 - PresentOmaha, Ne, UsLead Structural Engineer with primary responsibility to manage and develop the engineering team at Kiewit Engineering Group. My qualifications include Masters in Business Administration and Bachelors in Engineering. I possess 19 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and management. My current role demands leading, managing and providing value to inter-disciplinary engineering teams, identifying and responding to the needs of construction teams, communicating with internal and external clients for the success of the project and the company. I continuously look for ways to improve processes and makes recommendations for improvements. Primary Responsibilities: Staffing related- Managerial (65%):•Manage staff and activities for a project of significant size and complexity and develop staffing plans and schedules to meet the delivery schedule and task requirements. •Coordination and resource planning between teams and other district offices. •Plans and manages several different assignments simultaneously.•Mentoring and developing technical capabilities of mid-level and junior staff. •Goal setting and Performance appraisal of his direct reports and providing feedback to other team members or Indirect reports.•Research new markets and adapt current processes and work flows to successfully execute project deliverables.•Considers multiple solutions and makes good decisions based on good data analysis.Project related-Technical (35%):•Develops mid to major-sized projects or proposals with no supervision and help identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning.•Produces design changes as needed to stay within budget and schedule. •Demonstrates Quality Control / Quality Assurance of the design and engineering of major-sized projects to ensure accuracy.•Reviews and corrects the work of engineers and designers developing engineering and design documents as needed for the project. -
Senior Structural EngineerStantec Nov 2018 - Oct 2020Edmonton, Alberta, CaI was lead engineer for five different pipeline terminal projects to be executed in Grand Prairie, Alberta. Typical scope for all five projects consisted of piperacks, pipebridges, main line pump foundations, booster pump foundations, pump shelters, shelter foundations, electrical buildings, trap area supports, tie-in location supports and prover platforms. All projects are extension or upgrade of existing terminals, so many new utilities such as pipes and cable trays are run through the existing piperacks which require re-analysis to ensure strength and serviceability of the members. All the structures mentioned above involved use different material and structural components of steel and concrete. The typical foundation system used at these sites is driven pipe piles. My involvement in the project started from zero date, conceptualizing the framing system for various structures mentioned above and helping designers to model these structures. I performed preliminary analysis to size the structural members so that any interference issues due to the sizes and layout can be identified. Stantec has a rigorous system of 3D modelling all the utilities involving all the disciplines on one common platform. I was involved in interdisciplinary review of the 3D models. At predefined milestone progress of the project, the 3D models are reviewed with client and other stakeholders such as construction group and operations group. My involvement in such reviews enriched my understanding regarding their requirements and constructability of structures. I was involved in-depth analysis of constructability of foundations and structures as these plants are operational plants.Bridge Engineering related experience:• Working on infrastructure projects such as bridge foundations design, bridge evaluations and repairs per CSA S6.• Carried out many bridge inspection and BIM reports. -
Lead Civil & Structural Engineer - Shell Scotford RefineryWorley Apr 2013 - Oct 2018North Sydney, Nsw, AuAt WorleyParsons, I was involved with a group serving a Shell Scotford refinery located at Fort Saskatchewan. This refinery was constructed in early 80s and upgraded subsequently over the years for efficient production and added product profile. The WorleyParsons’s engineering group works on new developments for upgrades in the existing production units. As a structural engineer my role was to work as discipline lead engineer for various new upgrades at the plant. The typical upgrades are adding new access platforms, new system of pipes, facility buildings, underground pipe investigation and repair, vessel foundations, field inspections, temporary support system for large excavations, investigation of existing structures for new loads. Typically, the construction material used is structural steel and concrete for above ground structures, and CFA and steel piling as foundations. Being a discipline lead engineer for such a project, my involvement starts at the define phase of the project. In the define phase I was responsible to define the project requirements for civil and structural discipline. All the project scheduling, planning and manhour estimates are made in define phase. I carried out the project to the next phase called the detail engineering phase when engineering work begins. The standards and codes used are provincial and national building codes of Canada, CSA A23.3 for concrete structures, CSA S16 for steel structures, W59 and PIP. -
