The INAD team provides insights and important information to help other departments like yard operations etc.•As a data scientist, a part of my job is to optimize the dormitory allocation for workers following certain constraints. Another part is to devise statistical techniques to detect anomalies in a highly random data.•For dormitory allocation, linear programming techniques (operations research) were successfully implemented to come up with a feasible distribution of dormitories. For anomaly detection, various statistical methods are being implemented and tested to come up with a reliable solution. [Python, Excel, Power BI, SQL]•By applying certain constraints on dormitory allocation, we ensured that all the safety measures for Covid2019 were followed. At the same time, the well being of workers is also taken care of by allocating them together based on the type of work, nationality, etc. •Using the anomaly detection, we can create an early trigger for the operations team regarding a surge in yard space requirement. The pre-planning will help to reduce certain costs for the business.

The financial operations teams were facing significant workload with their customers/contracts management – leading to missed deadlines, additional errors, and just above average customer satisfaction ratings.• As a data science intern, my job was to discover the areas where process automation was utmost necessity with the help of data. Concurrently, determine the factors that may be affecting the progress of teams towards their monthly/quarterly targets for billing accuracy, average-time, number of disputes, etc.• I engineered analytical models using Python 3 and SQL application called DBeaver to aid automation of time-consuming regular tasks related to financial accounting & customer billing, and enhanced the existing prescriptive framework to help the teams with the factors such as customers, invoices etc that might be causing lower yield. I also designed a machine learning monitoring paradigm with the help of Cognos data visualization tool to regularly notify the data science unit on the performance of their models running live.• By having meaningful insights at hand, the management was able to bring in process-automation to replace tasks that require no to very less human intervention, resulting in lesser operational cost, accelerated productivity and better workforce allocation. • With factors affecting their progress, teams were able to successfully accomplish their targets and hence higher customer satisfaction.
