At one of the premier business schools in India, I was led to believe that our role was not to take up a job - but rather to create jobs. We were encouraged to pursue our dreams and in the process, help others pursue theirs. I joined IndeBo with this belief and the belief in travel. After all, who does not like to travel - and that too both within India and to Europe, Africa, North and South America. I started off setting up the sales processes in the company - working on developing new markets in South Africa and emerging European economies. Our main aim was to sell possibilities of travel in South Asia. After working in IndeBo for 7.5 years I moved to Airbnb. At the time, Airbnb needed building up of great supply in India and I worked with a distributed team of 8 in setting up the same in Rajasthan. Through the team's efforts, we improved the revenue generated from Rajasthan and were part of some really exciting projects including Heritage listings and short burst markets.Zomato was my next destination as we set out to build the biggest disruption in online ordering - the launch of Tier 1, 2 and 3 cities. I set up the launch of more than 30 cities across the East including Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam and the rest of North Eastern India. We started generating revenues almost immediately and it was a revelation to see the acceptance of Zomato in these cities. I am currently working on growth in these cities.
