Program Manager Rural Digital Services Project : October 05 - Sept 06The Rural Digital Services Project ( RDS) is an initiative by the state government to build a common platform for the deployment of citizen-centric services of all departments of the state government. My role as the program manager and head of the RDS project included the following.• Enabled delivery of a wide range of citizen centric services of the Revenue department to the rural citizens of the state through the network of village telecentres.• Prepared the tender ( Request for Proposal ) documents for selection of the vendor that would build own and operate a network of 800 village telecentres• Executed all steps of the bid management process as per government norms The RDS program has secured many awards, including an International Public Sector Achievement Award instituted by the Public Sector Technology Magazine and two National innovation awards for implementation of a Citizen Centric e-Governance initiative. Consultant Karnataka One Project Dec 06 to Sep 07 In April 2005, the State Government implemented the land mark Bangalore One project that provides a 24/7 facility to a citizen to avail services of various utility companies and agencies of the state government. In December 2006, the State government decided to replicate the Bangalore One project to five other cities of Karnataka. My role in the project included • Preparing the project plan for replication of the project. • Writing the Request for proposal of the Software Vendor, Citizen Service Centre Operator, and the Banker to the project, and Bid management of the above RFP’s for selection of the VendorAdditional assignments included• Computerization of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies • Selection of an e-Governance consultancy organization for the various department of the State government• Selection of Technical resources for the State Data Centre, Nemmadi Program and Bhoomi Program

The Kuppam HP i-community program of Hewlett-Packard aimed to build new businesses and revenue streams for HP by engaging in holistic socio-economic development of underserved communities. The program aims to make an impact on all aspects that concern the community, namely education, health, economic development, social empowerment, and interface with the government. In the program, I worked both to develop an ecosystem of strategic partners and develop new business ideas that can further program objectives. Achievements include• Commenced the Digital Rural Theatre programDevised a low cost (< US $ 1900) digital theatre kit comprising of a HP DLP projector, a DVD player and speakers that is enabling new income opportunities to entrepreneurs in Kuppam and providing a new market to HP.• Started an ITES Centre in Kuppam in partnership with Datamation Consultants Delhi, India that is providing local youth with ICT based jobs and is a model for HP and other organizations to start ITES businesses in rural areas. • Consolidating and scaling the Village photographer program in KuppamThe village women photographer was started in April 2003 with 4 women and in June 2004 12 new photographers were added. September 04 onwards worked towards making the business of the 12 new photographers sustainable. • Partnered with American India Foundation and World Links to integrate ICT in education in 15 schools of Kuppam.• Worked with PES Medical College, a local 700 bed Medical College and hospital to deploy a mobile van program that reaches both medical and ICT services to the rural community in Kuppam. • Communication effortso Teamed with other colleagues to bring out a coffee table book on Kuppamo Created a photo exhibition based on the bank of images taken for the Kuppam Coffee table book.o Commenced an internal news letter highlighting the achievements of the Kuppam HP i-community team.

In this period I worked first in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh the site of Gyandoot to consolidate the operations there. Later my role included monitoring projects and customer services and working with the Government of Tamil nadu for extending the SARI project. In this brief stint achieved a breakthrough by recruiting a business partner for the Kanchipuram project, a first in Tamil Nadu.

Achievements include• Gaining acceptance in the tea trade, an old conservative and monopolistic industry• Rolled out the portal teawebex.com to three South Indian auction centres in a span of 3 months. • Formulated the auction module and other features which will be of use to the consumers• Achieved the highest usage and revenue figures among all the Satyam Web Exchange B2B vertical portals despite staff and expenditure constraints

(Ghaziabad Fty) Buyer June 96 - May 98Responsible for all supply chain functions including Edible Oil Purchase, Packaging Material, Out Bound Logistics, 3P Production and management accounting for the Vanaspati & Refined Oil Production unit of the Oils and Dairy Fats Division of HLL. Achievements includeCommodity Oil Purchase• Raw Material savings of over two crores through judicious purchasing better understanding of market dynamics and innovative raw material mix ion.3P Production: • Sourced Production of 6,000 MT of Vanaspati and 7,500 MT of refined Oils in 1998 in four locations in North, which led to increased Sales and consolidated Market dominance. The task included selection of units and all supply chain functions.Raw material Purchase: • Introduced Vendor Managed Inventory by having single supplier for each item,• Introduced Innovations like development of Labels, new Corrugated box dimensions that have yielded both savings and given an edge in the Market.Logistics• Achieved 98% dispatch requirement despite heavy skews in requirements
