Anis Haffar was recognized by the New African magazine among the “100 Most Influential Africans of 2016”. His columns, Education Matters, appears on Mondays in the Daily Graphic, and a second column, Human Capital, appears in the Business World magazine. He’s the author of the book “LEADERSHIP: Reflections on Some Movers, Shakers and Thinkers” which he used to teach Leadership Seminars at Ashesi University. His second book “MFANTSIPIM: The Makers of a Great School” was launched as a Fund Raising event for his alma mater at the Kofi Annan ICT Centre of Excellence, Accra. His third book titled, “Strategies for Effective Teaching and Learning” was also launched in 2019 as a guide for all teachers, parents, administrators, and policy makers. Mr Haffar started off professionally in the U.S. with the Los Angeles Unified School District where, for 10 years, he taught English Language, Literature, and Communication Skills. Additionally, he coordinated the Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program. In Ghana, he has designed many workshops and seminars in Teacher Education nationwide. He serves as the Chief Examiner of the yearly “Write Away Contest” by Citi FM promoting reading and writing skills among the nation’s youth.He serves as the Chairman, Board of Governors, Tema International School; Board member, AngloGoldAshanti (AGA) School, Obuasi; Board Member Academic City College, Accra; and Council Member of the Ghana Education Service.He is a Senior Lecturer, teaching Creative & Critical Thinking at Accra College of Medicine, and a member of the Expert Commission on National Vision and Plan for Tertiary Education in Ghana. He was recently a Distinguished Guest Speaker at the African Leadership University (ALU), Mauritius. He is a product of Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast, and California State University, Los Angeles. He did his graduate work at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
