Making a return after a five year hiatus, the Spelman College Mock Trial Association aims to provide students of Spelman College with opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, public speaking ability, a focused work ethic, self-confidence in a team environment, and insight into performance-based competition, the legal field, and trial advocacy training and experience. Further, my role as an intern involves helping to plan and host the organization's numerous team bonding events throughout the school year.

Ever since 2020, I developed a stronger passion for creating art. With the COVID-19 pandemic confining everyone to their homes, I decided to paint as a creative outlet. When people were impressed by my art and wanted to purchase paintings, I decided to take my art to the next level. As a student at Spelman College, I utilized MANY resources to learn how to start a business. Upon completing an abundance of research, I began to sell my paintings officially, as part of my small business: Artistry for Real by Anisa F. Richardson. I applied what I learned to promote my business on Instagram, and making connections to further promote my art. I have experience as a vendor at Spelman College's Market Friday.My accomplishments as the owner of Artistry for Real include promoting business through my Instagram page, business cards, and vending at Market Friday and the increase of sales by adding commissioned paintings to be available for purchase.

As a Paralegal Intern, I spent three months learning about how important it is to have someone back in the office making sure clients can get ahold of someone if the lawyer is in court, reading and responding to important emails, and allowing for legal documents to be signed. I spent some time in the State of Connecticut Superior Court, experienced a sentencing hearing, and speaking to judges, lawyers, and other court employees. While in the office, I increased online engagement with the firm by creating a QR code via Canva for clients to scan and leave reviews on Google. I also spent time organizing the filing cabinets, which led to easier office use. I ensured deadlines were met while the attorney was out of the office by having clients come into the office to sign important documents. Lastly, I resolved communication issues with clients by answering phone calls and taking messages.
