SCOPE OF WORK:• Carry out SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) energy performance calculations ensuring building regulation compliance based on approved documents Part L1A for new dwellings and Part L1B for existing dwellings (conversions and over glazed extensions).• Prepare site specification sheets for design stage new build projects with cost effective recommendations (improvements to fabric elements with better insulation, better services or adding renewables) that will enable the client to achieve building regulations compliance.• Prepare reports based on SAP calculations (conversions and over glazed extensions) carried out for Building Control submission.• Prepare EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) confirmation sheets for projects completed on site based on as built information and collect evidence for audit purposes.• Carry out Water Efficiency Calculations based on Part G of Building Regulations for new homes and conversions.• Occasional site visits to get hands on experience and better understanding of construction details in the UK, various insulation materials being used or how a sound insulation test is carried out.• Communicate and advice clients over phone and via e-mail regarding projects.

The MSc programme equipped me with the multi-disciplinary knowledge and skillset of an Engineer and an Architect and exposed me to cutting edge building modelling and building performance analysis tools such as Sefaira Architecture, DesignBuilder and IES Virtual Environment.I developed a good understanding of the various strategies of environmental design from an architectural point of view and also in-depth considerations of technical aspects in building design from an engineering point of view. An understanding of Part L Building Regulations and CIBSE standards for designing low-energy and environmentally sustainable buildings was also gained during the programme. The assessment was based on field studies in naturally ventilated office buildings in multiple climatic zones in India during the onset of monsoon season (June), when RH and air temperature is relatively at its peak.

Worked on projects from multiple sectors during the different stages of design development. Projects included resort, hotel, street re-design, offices, hospital and bungalows.
