Anita Moreau (née François) is an Archaeologist, Museum Curator, Founder & CEO of Black Travel Summit, and Co-Founder of Black Travel Film Festival.Born and raised in London, UK; this descendent of Seychelles (East Africa) and Haiti took advantage of her location and heritage to fully immerse herself in culture, travel, history and the arts.Moreau has a passion for diversity in travel and has been an avid traveller to many international destinations for more than two decades, which has supported and expanded on her love for culture, heritage and history, particularly within the global African Diaspora.Studying a B.A. in Television Production at Middlesex University, Anita gained skills in filming, producing, directing, writing, video editing and photography. Soon thereafter, her passion from working with historical documentaries transformed into the love of its content and she took up an M.A. in Archaeology at UCL. While studying, she took part in other cultural activities such as running in the 'Miss Afrique Francophone' beauty pageant; representing the Seychelles. She also has 3 years of professional experience performing Sega; the traditional dance of the Seychelles at corporate events, weddings and festivals. Upon completing her Masters, Anita took advantage of the opportunity to move to the USA. Here she has worked with several cultural organizations in curating programs, events, and exhibitions for the public.Her most recent endeavour has been creating the Black Travel Summit and Black Travel Film Festival; events celebrating travel industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and creators from within the global African diaspora.Moreau has appeared in articles in Black Enterprise, Conde Nast, Yahoo News, Travel Noire, Medium, and Nation and Potpourri; a popular newspaper and magazine in the Seychelles.
