Hello, My name is Anita Ly and I am a recent college graduate at Arizona State University with a Bachelor's in Medical Studies in pursuit to become a dentist. I also have an affinity to openly pursue clinical research. I have always liked the idea of interacting with patients of all ages, so using ethical-based practices, the desire to hone my dexterity skills to create art through smiles, and implement research to help better the world is something I want to participate in as a life-long career. Eventually, I aspire to open my own dental practice and/or be a director or leader of a research team at a major facility. What lead me to this is the fact that I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them through my natural curiosity as a distinct personality trait of mine.Before college, I have had the chance to volunteer at a hospital called Banner Gateway Medical Center. Through volunteering, I have had the chance to interact with people of all ages, specifically in the labor/delivery appartment, which drove me to want to provide oral care for others and/or potentially recruit and study participants for clinical purposes. I am bilingual with the ability to speak English as my native language and Chinese. As of now, I am working at Kohls as a part-time Sales Associate, while going through the application process for dental school. I am also openly searching for clinical research jobs. I consider myself to be a dedicated, detail-oriented, and compassionate person as interacting with patients requires empathy and enhanced listening skills as every person is a unique individual with diverse backgrounds. I hope to gain a wider perspective of the world through clinical work and to make a difference in people's lives by improving health and mortality rates.
