Anita M. Garrett is a social entrepreneur and strategic adviser. She has worked in the fields of philanthropy and community engagement for more than 25 years helping build capacity and create public/private partnerships globally. Passionate about economic inclusion, she strives to leverage resources and coordinate sustainable development initiatives. Additionally, as Chief Strategy Officer of The Weathers Group, Ms. Garrett devises solutions addressing business challenges for a diverse client base. Anita serves on the Women United Global Leadership Council of United Way Worldwide and is a recipient of the TWIN Award (Tribute to Women In Industry), a recognition of her leadership in both the community and in business. Garrett is founder of W.E. (Women Engaged), an African American Giving Circle focused on financial and civic literacy. Her work is frequently featured in various publications and when she’s not writing, she enjoys volunteering with numerous affiliations that target gender inequality and social justice. Garrett is a South Carolina Education Policy Fellow, a graduate of the Diversity Leadership Initiative (Riley Institute of Furman University), a Global Career Development Facilitator, and certified mediator.
