1. Performed Crash analysis of front bumper crush can (FBCC) system to study the impact behaviour of composite materials (carbon fibre) over traditional material (steel).2. Designed and developed front bumper and crush can in Catia.3. Acquired in-depth knowledge of different material models (composite,steel, aluminum)4. Carried out meshing of the FBCC in Hypermesh and set up the model for simulation in LS Dyna.5. Successfully proved the Specific Energy Absorption of composites to be 1.5 times than that of steel. Also, presented graphically the advantages of composite materials for automotive crashworthiness.6. Future scope is to extend the study to roof structures during rollovers with simulation.7. Currently assisting on Split Hopkinson’s Pressure Bar (SPHB) experiment to study the dynamic stress strain behavior of materials under tensile loading.8. Assembled the SPHB apparatus with the required instrumentation and Data Acquisition Systems.Skills: Hypermesh, LS Dyna, Catia, Hypergraph, Dynamic testing.
