CurrentOversee Transport Planning, Traffic Operations and Major Transport Project teams. The Head of Transport provides strategic direction and ensures a cohesive approach is taken by Major Projects, Transport Planning and Transport Operations Teams. Major Transport Project team supports the State's $3 billion "Big Build" of major road and rail projects across Casey. The team coordinates Council's involvement in the planning, delivery and construction of these projects over the next 2 to 3 years and have a key role in advocating to ensure these projects delivery maximum community benefit and integrate effectively with Council infrastructure. Transport Planning team develops and delivers key transport strategies, policies and guidelines in the City. The team leads evidence-based planning for transport and input into development and implementation of PSPs, placemaking and revitalisation. Leads capital works planning for transport projects such as New and Improved Roads and Unsealed Road programs. Advocate for major transport infrastructure and services and apply for grant funding through the State and Federal Government. Transport Operations team responds to traffic safety, parking management, and public lighting issues raised by the community. The key responsibilities include implementing parking management measures addressing broader parking issues around schools, activity centres, train stations etc. The team monitors the local road network for road safety and traffic initiatives as well as prioritising projects and funding under the Capital Works Program. Also manages Council's public lighting operation budget, as well as managing or responding to a range of requests for new or renewal works within the public lighting network.
