I studied Costume Design at the University of Louisville, where I gained skills in costume rendering, draping, drafting, garment construction, wardrobe management, and inventory tracking. During my time at the university's costume shop, I also honed my photography and digital design skills, including proficiency in Procreate.While in school, I worked with various theaters and opera houses, including designing for the Kentucky Opera, where I am currently working on a production. After graduation, I had the opportunity to collaborate with a local fashion designer, which led me to assist at New York Fashion Week.In 2023, I relocated to New York City and started working as a Creative Assistant for April Walker at Walker Wear, the first female owned streetwear brand. In addition to my role at Walker Wear, I continue to work as a freelance designer and create my own custom clothing, for my brand Aniyah Monae.I am passionate about continuing to develop my design and tailoring skills, with a specific focus on becoming a master tailor. I am always looking for opportunities to learn, grow, and collaborate within the fashion industry.
