My public health passion is creating and implementing capacity-building and workforce development training for public health practitioners. Training areas include evidence-based public health (EBPH); use, visualization, and communication of public health data; and leadership and management for public health practice via one day in-person and cohort-based online formats. I am an epidemiologist and researcher with over 18 years of experience working with multidisciplinary, collaborative teams in public health and academic settings. I have been the Principal Investigator on numerous NIH and CDC grants in the areas of health behavior research and cancer outcomes research. In addition to my research, I love to teach and mentor students. I have taught undergraduate and graduate-level public health courses, including Fundamentals of Public Health, Introduction to Public Health, Advanced Epidemiology Methods, MPH Capstone Experience, and Inter-professional Education and Practice for MPH students. I have executive-level administrative experience leading an academic program and I am an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of an academic institution.
