Anjali Chandran worked as a senior software engineer in Wipro after graduating from BITS Pilani . However, she was always a girl with a humanitarian leaning and has always wanted to do something that will benefit the lesser fortunate section of the society. Born into a village with a great tradition of loom weaving, Anjali started her own venture that sought to bring better profits and revenue to village weavers. The venture was christened as Impresa in 2012. Impresa stands tall in 2017, as one among the best ten global social start-ups that Capegemini, Paris, sought to recognize and endorse. Impresa was the only woman-founder start-up from India to have entered the Innovators Race in Capegemini. Anjali also bagged the 2017 Jwala award for the Best Young woman Social Entrepreneur Award from Kairali, People’s TV .She was invited to United States by The U.S. Department of State as an Indian delegate for joining a multi-regional project “Women in Entrepreneurship” together with 53 women from 53 countries.Anjali participated in Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women program ,a global initiative that fosters economic growth by providing women entrepreneurs around the world with a business and management education, mentoring and networking, and access to capital and was selected among the best 10 startups in the startup pitch by NSRCEL of IIM Bangalore.
