Performed stress calculations on buried concrete box culvert, as a part of structural analysis to determine the need to reinforce the box culvert. Provide work plans and design clarification letters to clients.• On-Site Engineer for 6 months in San Diego, California for the construction of 19-mile-long Bollard fence. Conducted field quality control inspections on daily basis to ensure structures were built as per the drawings and monitored the onsite laboratory testing of material samples to verify if the testing and materials comply with the Codes and Specifications. • Involved in research sponsored by United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on studying the structural health monitoring (SHM) of dams using Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).• Created Finite Element models on the Dams’ trunnion anchor rod assembly using 3D- Modeling techniques in ABAQUS Finite Element software. To simulate the behavior of post-tension rod anchorage mechanism, models were analyzed with different contact properties and different boundary conditions.• Investigated the effect of selecting element type and element size in achieving accuracy of the results.• Created an objective function using variables such as diameter, length of the cantilever and frequency to estimate load in the post-tensioned anchor rods. Performed statistical regression analysis to validate and verify this objective function.• Worked on validation of Dispersive Wave testing method to test trunnion anchor rods at JT Myers, Markland, Greenup, West Point Dam, Hannibal, Newburg, Willow Island and Cannelton Dams to predict post-tensioned forces in each anchor rod using FEA & Statistical regression analysis.• Performed laboratory tests (modulus of elasticity, Poisson’s ratio, Impact Echo & Ultrasonic testing) on test models to obtain the desired features and its documentation. Experienced in working with instrumentation sensors such as, Strain Gages, Load Cells, Pressure Sensors, Thermocouples, Extensometers and Displacement Transducers, Operate digital and analog data acquisition systems.
