Wheat breeding and genetics research (Funding: Growing Forward 2; Collaborator: Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, U of Guelph and U of Manitoba)• Identification of QTL associated with Fusarium head blight and rust diseases of winter wheat.• Identification of QTL associated agronomic and quality traits in winter wheat. • Gene pyramiding for multiple disease resistance (Fusarium head blight, Rust) in winter wheat. • Genetic characterization and gene expression study of winter wheat resistance to Fusarium head blight.

Barley pathology and genetics research project funded through TCAP project USDA and NDSU;• Identification of host resistance source effective against spot form net blotch/ SFNB (Pyrenophora teres f. maculata) of barley.• Mapping quantitative trait associated with spot form net blotch resistance/susceptibilityof barley using genome wide association study (GWAS) approach.• Genetic characterization of pathogen virulence association with barley- P. teres f maculta pathosystem.
