I'm a passionate science enthusiast with outstanding technical and analytical skills in the disciplines of molecular genetics, immunology, microbiology, and marine biotechnology. I aim to become a Research & Development Scientist in the field of plant/algal biotech. My highest qualification is Master of Science in Biotechnology. I've obtained Master's degree from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. I did my Bachelor's in Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology from Women's Christian College, Chennai, India. My project works are focused on potential microalgae and super foods. I have worked on marine algal species for my final research project in Swinburne University of Technology. "Extraction and optimization of oil from marine algae Nanochloropsis oculata to replace fish oil" was the proposed hypothesis. My main objective was to detect the presence of omega 3 fatty acid in marine algal species. It was understood that around 70% of the algal dry weight is contributed by lipid molecules. When I was working on my final thesis, I got multiple opportunities to work with fascinating instruments starting from normal centrifuge (10,000 rpm), high-speed centrifuge (14,500 rpm), ultra-centrifuge (20,000 rpm), water-bath ultrasonicator, preparative High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas chromatography-Mass spectrometry (GC-MS), Liquid chromatography-Mass spectrometry, and Infra-red spectroscopy. I look forward to work as a Research Assistant or a Grade 1 Scientist in a University research team or a Biotech company to initiate my career. During my Under-grad program, I worked as a casual research assistant. Since I was graduating and was aiming for a master's degree I couldn't work as a full-time research assistant. It was a small laboratory where most of the works were sample collection and sample testing. I achieved the technical knowledge of flow cytometry and spectrophotometer from my casual research assistant job. At the moment I'm available to start as a research assistant in the disciplines of virology, molecular genetics of viral pathogens, or structural biology focused on infectious diseases and human immune system.
