My sister's hair was down her back, mine was at my shoulders. My brother and sisters' eyes were slanted, mine were round. My brother and sister complexion were light, mine was caramel. 8-year-old Anjanette didn't know comparison opened the door for low self-esteem and I to become best friends for MANY years. Low self-esteem told me to accept less than what I wanted, allow others to treat me any kind of way, allow others to say anything to me, to doubt myself, not believe in me, second guess myself and take my voice away and much more. Because I had a praying mother that introduced me to God, he healed and delivered me. Working in the Corporate world for 10 years, as my supervisor walk beside me going to the elevator for lunch she turned around and asked: "Angye, do you feel as though you leave yourself at the elevators when you arrive to work? My "YES" to the question and a friend randomly walking up to me on the train platform asking me to go with her to sign up for Cosmetology School, which also lead me to sign up and become a licensed hairstylist. As a hairstylist I would hear about ladies being abused and I would see ladies being abused and that lead me to start doing complete makeovers for ladies from the inside out. They received new hairstyles, new clothes and I poured into them effortlessly. Seeing the lack of respect in our youth, violence against self and others, eating disorders and body contouring was normal, drinking and alcohol abuse, no imaginations, dreams unfulfilled, no vision, no morals/values, self-esteem, self-worth and self-love was nowhere on their radar. Childhood traumas & tragedies, neglect, abandonment, hurt, abuse all have played their part in our young people lives. Their next choice can change the rest of their lives forever. So, I tell them to choose wisely! Their lives depend on it! Some want to choose differently but, they don't SEE all their options!Precious Rubies - beautifying ladies from the inside out was birthed in 2007. Names of programs are not disclosed due to registration is in progress. *****A program for leaders (Church, Mentors, Corporation, Supervisors, Managers, Cosmetologist) was birthed in 2019. A program for Re-entry young ladies/men, Audi homes, Alternative schools' girls/boys, Judge appointed, substance abuse young ladies/men and no vision ladies/men 16-24 was birthed in 2022.Open for workshops, keynote speaker, panel discussions on topics related to youth, faith, leaders, cosmetologist's, mentoring girls, young adults and women
