With over 30 years of experience in hospitality, administration, people-skills and team-management, I have now focussed my energies on a cause-driven start-up called WOOP. WOOP (WOmen of OPinion) is a revolutionary digital engagement platform which is making Marketing a force for good. WOOP turns the online engagement time of women, for which it gets paid by brands, into rewards for its women members and also funds for charities focused on education and nutrition of underprivileged Children, aligned with the UN’s sustainable development Goal no. 2 - Zero Hunger and Goal no.4 - Quality Education. When women engage on WOOP, everyone wins: Brands, Consumers and Society. Brands gain superior value for their marketing budget; WOOP members get rewards and emotional fulfilment; and needy children get education and nutrition.Since its launch in Q3 2017, 700,000+ women across 6 countries - India, Philippines, Russia, Indonesia, UK and Arabia - have done 4.5 million engagement and advocacy actions on WOOP for leading consumer goods companies like Unilever, P&G, L’oreal, Philips, and Reckitt Benckiser. This includes social media conversations, reviews, ugc, deeper engagement, dark social conversations, lead-generation, trials and much more. These engagement actions in turn, have funded 420,000+ school days for primary school girls in India, 42,000 school lunches for students in government schools in Philippines, 6,200 Class hours for autistic Children in Russia and bought 4100 books for poor children in Indonesia.The several years of my professional career before WOOP have been truly enriching. Have founded and directed several entrepreneurial start-ups including an Entertainment Hub (Ice Skating Cafe), a travel house (Glen Travels Pvt Ltd), two hotels (Hotel Jewel & Pleasant Stay), two restaurants (Sip n Munch & Sapeethi), a girls hostel in Bangalore (Apna Ghar) and a construction company (Janani Builders) in Kodaikanal. As the Founder President of Soroptomist International Kodaikanal, I have been fortunate enough to be involved in several socially-responsible activities including Cancer Walks, Medical Camps, monetary contributions for the old age and polio homes, and feeding of the underprivileged amongst other efforts. I look forward to enriching my life further with the new experiences life is yet to offer. With WOOP, I get to help women, continue honing my marketing skills, and at the same time, know that all my effort will lead to more girls going to school.
