I work at Rijkswaterstaat as an external employee, my primary employer being Clarox B.V. I'm hired as a special advisor to a team at Rijkswaterstaat that supports the application MARS (Monitoring And Registration System). MARS monitors dredging works in the North sea. Dredging works include strengthening and maintaining the beaches and dunes as well the maintenance of waterways. All dredging ships equipped with MARS are hopper dredgers. The ships are owned by contractors. They collect detailed information about the dredging process, including, but not limited to, draft, cargo hight in the hopper, location and dredging depth. Those data are sent to a MARS board system which has to process those data reliably with the goal to pay the contractors for their efforts when he work is done. From the board system the raw as well as the processed data are sent to a central shore system.The current MARS is in production since 2014 and is continuously being developed further. My primary tasks involve supporting the development process of new software versions, such as writing requirements for the new versions, installing sprint deliveries for testing on the testing environments , writing test cases and the testing itself. Technology evolves as well. Therefore requirements for new releases include not only functional requirements, but also non-functional requirements, such as technology updated and security requirements.

At MX.Systems I was mainly occupied with applicationmanagement and functional management of various custom applications. In both roles I had a variaty of tasks. For application management these where mainly programming, making testplans and testing software, 2nd and 3rd line user support, creating software design descriptions, designing and giving user courses and database management.Tasks in functional management where helping to get an application in production, compose a release from change requests, setting up requirements, coordinating work with other parts of the organization, writing procedural plans, organizing the availability of user courses and writing requests for change.
