Risk Based Inspection Engineer for DOW CHEMICALS, INDIA ENGINEERING OFFICE, Chennai.

RBI / Inspection Consultant member of the Asset Integrity Team based in Chennai, IndiaDuring this period I was involved in the RBI project of various DOW sites in Europe and North America region to carry out the following :- Development of RBI Methodology & Tool Configuration in accordance with DOW Asset integrity management System- Implementation of RBI approach at DOW facilities regarding the static equipment, Piping, PSVs and Subsea pipeline- Identify the Risk assessment for DOW Static equipment and piping based on the consequence and likelihood analysis

Implementation of RBI approach across various plants of Refiner at Reliance Jamnagar plant.1. Selection of plant units.2. Identification of Corrosion loops and Development of Corrosion Manual.3. Establishment of corrosion rates, identifying inspection confidence etc.4. Inspection History and Inspection details population of 1000s of components.5. Data validation related to static equipment, for all templates.6. Conduct workshops, process workflow awareness and UAT's for deployment of integrity management tools such as Meridium.7. Calculation of Risk using Meridium software, population of risk matrix.8. Risk minimization and monitoring by implementing focused inspection practices.9. Empowering management to review safety in an integrated cost effective manner

RBI, Corrosion and Inspection ,Static Reliablity EngineerProvide proactive technical support on issues related to corrosion mechanisms, corrosion control, and metallurgy for MOCs, PHA studies, plant changes, and new projects.Integrate the NDT techniques/procedures into the Corrosion & Inspection Management Strategy for static mechanical equipment and process piping when applicable. Penetrant examination (PT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), ultrasonic testing (UT), radiography (RT), PMI, Metallographic, hardness tests and boroscopy.Responsible for developing and maintaining an effective asset inspection history (repository, data storage, information retrieval, metrics) and act as curator of this inspection data and historyAnalyze the inspection data in order to determine piping and structural corrosion trends. Troubleshoots problems to determine and eliminate bad actors. Conducts root cause failure analysis (RCFA) as basis for determining targeted corrective actions to reduce/eliminate chronically under performing or failure-prone equipment. Provide support to Operations & Maintenance Team during the Plant start-up and normal operation in all plant and equipment inspection requirements and activities.Familiarity with API 581, API 580, API 510 and applicable NACE standards for key damage mechanisms.
