Pursuing an MBA at ESB Business School has provided a valuable knowledge boost mid-career, enhancing my substantial skill set in financial controlling, accounting, credit and foreign exchange operations, customer relationship management, and in strategizing for marketing and sales of financial products and services.At SBI, I collaborated with cross-functional teams to meet the financial requirements of diverse clients—from agriculturists to SMEs and mid-sized corporates—analyzing financial statements to assess creditworthiness, leveraging partnerships with credit-rating agencies, and empanelled valuers. I managed fund disbursements up to Rs. 5 crore (≈ $500,000) and presented credit proposals for limit extensions beyond this amount to credit committees. This role also deepened my knowledge of treasury operations, as I supported international trade transactions by providing bank guarantees, letters of credit, and invoice financing. As an Accounting Manager for more than two financial years, I was responsible for overseeing banking services, transactions, cash management, reconciliation of central ledgers, year-end closings, compliance, and audits. Working within the frameworks of Ind-GAAP and IAS, I developed expertise in diverse accounting standards and led controlling activities for operational and reputational risk management.Further, I also collaborated in implementing marketing and sales strategies, for various financial products, including real estate advances, automobile loans, fund-based export support services, and digital financial solutions.The most notable periods in my career at SBI were during a major five-bank merger and the demonetisation initiative. I contributed to analyzing the business potential of merging units within a city and managing change post-merger. During demonetisation, I enhanced my skills in adaptability, teamwork, resource optimization, and effective communication amid significant operational challenges.I have a keen eye for business opportunities and entrepreneurial leanings, which I leveraged during my short stint with an own venture in retail and logistics. Despite finding limited success, it developed my skills in carrying out market research, customer surveys, and forging partnerships.Outside of my professional endeavours, I am an avid expressionist, writing poetry for over a decade. I also engage in sports like snooker, cricket, and football whenever possible and create music using software like FL Studio and BandLab.
