Key Responsibilities:• Child Protection Case Management: Setting up SOPs and standardized protocols and reporting formats for Aangan’s regional offices in order to ensure that all Child Protection and safeguarding cases are addressed appropriately. Training regional teams to respond to cases of serious harm, providing ongoing case supervision and guidance on case management. • Curriculum development for training community child protection volunteers in order for them to identify and respond to serious cases of child abuse and harm across 6 states that Aangan works in. • Planned, implemented and supervised a team of 20 trainers to effectively deliver Aangan’s child protection training to community women with a view to create a sustainable model owned and executed by community people across 6 states that Aangan works in.• Designing community based strategic intervention aimed to create community ownership of child protection issues with localized solutions. Preparation of an assessment tool and training local people to use the tool in order to identify and respond to child protection issues in their community. • Planned and implemented training programs for Senior Police Officers and District Child Protection officers across 2 States to provide knowledge and skills in the area of child protection.• Advocacy and Networking: Liaising with government officials to introduce child protection programs in educational institutions. • Planned, Implemented and Monitored a need based assessment for Ashramshalas in Maharashtra. Based on the findings, made recommendations to Tata Trust for future work in Ashramshalas.

Key responsibilities: • Completed an in-depth assessment of Freedom Funds local partners in India. • Identified gaps, provided recommendations to strengthen the local partners work within the community with primary focus on safeguarding children and adults that are vulnerable to harm.

Key Responsibilities• To carry out complex assessments where children or young people are thought to be in risk, and to take the appropriate action as per the section 47 of the Children’s Act and Child Protection Procedures laid by the government of United Kingdom. • To ensure that children receive appropriate level of care, to advocate for children’s rights and to safeguard children from any form of risk or harm.• To take a lead role in formulating specialized care plans, creative support packages to meet the children’s needs.• To coordinate with other professionals from schools, hospitals, women’s organizations, parenting services, etc and to ensure that the plans for each child are implemented and periodically reviewed. • To undertake supportive and preventative work with individuals and families and arrange alternative care arrangements for children. • To identify appropriate foster carers for children who need to be placed in the council’s care and to assist and support foster carers. • To prepare Court reports, court statements and Care plans for Care proceedings.• To give verbal evidence in court during cross examination and to present the department’s concerns and care plans in respect of the children. • To mentor and support other less experienced social workers in undertaking their duties while safeguarding children and families. • To maintain accurate and up-to-date recording of work completed as per the IT framework of the London Government. To prepare annual and six monthly review reports for conferences and multi disciplinary meetings.

Key Responsibilities • Initiated Aangan’s psycho-social rehabilitation model in 6 state run children’s institution in Mumbai.• Part of the team that designed an assessment tool to assess the quality of care being provided in 50 state run children’s homes and institutions. • Ongoing liaison with Women and child development for policy level changes.• Research and documentation. I was part of a research team that completed a need assessment of the institutions across Maharashtra. The research report was subsequently submitted to the government of Maharashtra, Women and Child development department.

Key Responsibilities • Implementation of National Aids control society’s Targeted intervention program in 7 locations in Mumbai.• Awareness creation and prevention on HIV Aids programme amongst construction workers and daily contractual workers.• Liaison with government and non government organizations to sensitize them on the issue faced by people suffering from HIV aids. • Managing and supervising a multi disciplinary team comprising of counselors, Social workers, Field workers.
