Recycled Water- Currently working with State Water Resource Control Board (SWRCB) and Division of Drinking Water (DDW) to permit alternative sources for non-potable water (rainwater, stormwater, blackwater) for on-site reuse at 3 private developments.- Project Manager for Recycled Water Pipeline Extension Design- Review project submittals for dual-plumbed buildings and sites proposing to utilize recycled water for irrigation purposes. Provide developers and designer engineers with feedback necessary for project completion. - Manage all permitted users of recycled water for the City of Mountain View. Schedule and facilitate annual inspections, cross-connection tests, and site supervisor training.- Retrofit existing irrigation systems to allow for the conversion from potable water use to recycled water use. Oversee that such irrigation retrofits do not pose any risks to salt-intolerant plants, otherwise propose the site utilize a dual-irrigation system. One that keeps salt-intolerant plants on a separate potable system, while irrigated the rest of the landscape with recycled water. - Help designers and contractors eliminate the risks of cross-connection between potable and non-potable water supplies during the design and construction phases of a project. Work with the Division of Drinking Water and AWWA Cross-Connection Certified Inspectors to ensure safe recycled water use. - Work with other agencies in moving towards the goal of Indirect Potable Reuse and Direct Potable Reuse of advanced treated water.
