Polls was envisioned, as part of the Google Product Prodigy Competition, to become to easiest way to create and embed custom-made polls. It provided a platform to view and engage with current polls. It also provided an extremely simple API to distribute polls, gather responses and visualize results. Polls went on to win the competition in 2008.
