Setup as an independent division within Juniper after the acquisition of Contrail in Dec 2012, my team was responsible for sales, business development, professional services, product management, and engineering of software-defined networking & security products. In addition, we acquired Appformix in late 2016 to ease operations management for hybrid cloud environments. My overlay sales team and service delivery team were responsible for ensuring that Contrail & Appformix powered market leading services from enterprise and telcos -- Workday, Tencent (Riot), Symantec, DirecTV, AT&T, Orange, Deutsche Telekom, Telstra, Reliance Jio, NTT, and KDDI. Contrail is a Distributed Systems Platform with four major product lines - Contrail Networking for Openstack/K8s/Mesos/etc, Contrail Cloud for Telco NFV Application, Contrail Security for Hybrid Enterprise, and Contrail Fabric for consistent Underlay and Overlay. During my transition from Juniper, the project was made part of Linux Foundation as Tungsten Fabric with founding contributors as Juniper, Intel, AT&T, Yandex, Mellanox, Lenovo, etc. I remained as an Advisor to Juniper from Nov 2017 to March 2018 to help recruit my successor and provide a smooth transition to customers and employees.

Led the Investment Round in Early 2013 - http://www.rightrelevance.com - a Platform for Topical Authority Measurement that applies Machine Learning to large data-set from Twitter, LinkedIn, Wikipedia, etc. The RR team has built many interesting services based on the platform - topical data-streaming for financial services & hedge funds, automated & authoritative news-stream by topics, topical twitter conversation aggregation, etc. Acquired by Andurance UK in Nov 2017 returning 300% for the team.

Contrail Systems is the leading provider of Software Defined Networking solution that provides Infrastructure Software for major SaaS and Telecom Providers. Series A investment of $10M was led by Khosla Ventures in July 2012.The company was acquired by Juniper Networks in Dec 2012 for $200M+

At Aruba, I was responsible for R&D Organization of over 600 Employees in Silicon Valley, Bangalore, and Beijing. Led the acquisition of Clearpass for Access Management and Azalea for Mesh & Outdoor Wireless Products. Organically, the team delivered many new products around Security (NGFW), Controller Based Access Points, Switching, and Cloud Based Aruba Instant - this led to record revenue growth to over $650M/yr and stock returns during my tenure. The company was acquired by HPE for $3B+

At Juniper, I started the Ethernet Switching business unit with a team of 4 engineers and quickly ramped the team by hiring more than 500 engineers (Hardware, Software, ASIC, and QA) within 18 months - across Silicon Valley and Bangalore. We delivered more than 10 new products and multiple new ASICs within 2-years of starting the business unit. This business has been the highest growth product for Juniper and contributes more than $1B+ in annual revenue.

As part of the architecture team for Integrated Services Routers ($4B/yr product line), I was responsible for design as well as incubating an in-house ASIC team for the Business Unit. We built a complete set of ASICs with fixed function for high performance and programmability for fast evolving and multi-protocol support. These ASICs shipped on first revision and also led to major cost reductions for the platform as we transitioned from expensive FPGAs. Prior to ISRs, I was responsible for architecture and implementation of switching product ASICs where I built the world's first integrated Logic and DRAM process ASIC for dense gigabit switching. This was in collaboration with Infineon and it took 7 revisions and multiple changes in manufacturing processes to get to reliability.

At Hughes, I was part of the ASIC team that delivered multiple new products - Multi-mode (Satellite & GSM) Handsets for Thuraya (Middle-East Satellite Network), DirecTV chipset for Satellite & STB. Learnt many tricks of the trade by working on chips that took too many technology risks, broke new ground, and took many revisions as we made mistakes.
