I led the Machine Learning team at the bank. Primary objective of my team is to use Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Big Data Analytics to develop and productionize solutions (AWS and on prem) to business problems across the enterprise and business lines including sales, marketing, products, fraud prevention and anti-money laundering. In my current role, I provide strategic vision for Advanced Analytics, Big Data, AI and ML practices within the bank. I assist with the planning, governance, standards and best practices in identifying use-cases, working with data sets, modelling models etc. I am responsible for interacting with the business, identifying business challenges/ requirements and translating them into products and solutions that meet the business objectives of the bank/ business area. Few examples of recent projects that my team has delivered include:• Machine learning classification model to predict customer churn associated with planned branch closures. The model resulted in 150% improvement over the baseline and helped the bank in running targeted campaigns to retain customers.• Optimization model to identify bestfit checking product for the customers. Model also enables the product team to simulate the impact of potential product updates on fee revenue and customers.• Computer vision model to identify counterfeit checks. Did a POC prior to developing the full-scale production ready solution on Hadoop using PySpark. The model has already saved millions of dollars for the bank and customers by preventing fraud.• Deep learning (MLP) based alert prioritization model for anti-money laundering. The prioritization model greatly helped in prioritizing hundreds of alerts generated by the AML system.
