Technical DirectorDigital Domain Jun 2007 - Jun 2008Los Angeles, Ca, UsI was the massive Technical Director for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. My role ranged from R&D to shot production, and spanned nearly the entire course of the show. Using the pipeline and front end I helped create, our team of 4-10 artists was able to push out almost 170 massive shots in six months.* Developed an external pyQt-based GUI front end to massive, which allowed artists to pull assets into a scene, tweak simulation parameters, simulate and render scenes, and cull unwanted agents from a finished sim, all at the click of a button.* Developed a pipeline for running a massive cloth sim after the animation had been been approved.* Maintained several C++ dso's, which generated footstep, collision, and joint location data for massive agents, to be fed into houdini.* Ran shots for battle and marching sequences.* Provided technical support for a team of up to 9 other artists (excluding myself). -
