A month long internship during which we did the high altitude trek Roopkund . With the combined effort of co-interns and the trek leaders , we managed to clean several tons of waste from the slopes of roopkund and from the nearby areas of the basecamp(lohajung). We segregated the waste brought to us on the basecamp in different categories such as plastic , paper etc. We also made a bottle bricks bench , motivated locals to shift to solar energy , distributed cloth pads to local women explaining them the effects of throwing used sanitary pads on the environment etc.This internship gave me a lot of exposure and motivated me to protect the environment even more.It also helped me to improve my management skills.
