Annie Mullins OBE is co-founder of the Trust + Safety Group www.thetrustandsafetygroup.com supporting organisations to protect their digital presence, take control of users’ online safety and address the ethical, operational and public policy challenges in the digital world. Held senior positions at Yahoo! UK and Vodafone Global Marketing addressing the complex and operational challenges of digital safety, product development and stakeholder engagement. At Vodafone she led the company’s Global Content Standards team, setting policy and product standards, and implementing them across the global footprint of the company and founded the Digital Parenting programme. Led and worked extensively on digital industry self-regulation in both the UK and EU since 2000, including producing ‘Good Practice Standards for the Digital Industry’, for social media, search and moderation of content the UK and EU. She was awarded the ISPA UK Internet Hero Award in 2007 and the UK public honour, Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2009 for services to children and young people for leading this innovative cross stakeholder work.For the past 5years she has provided strategic expertise to ASK.fm and Yubo and other social media companies at times of reputation crisis. She helped to re-build ASKfm as a leading brand for user safety, setting community standards, moderation, product development, building stakeholder relations, and advising and managing PR communications. For Yubo, has helped to forge new technical 'live interventions' for live streaming when users are at risk, which have been publicly viewed as innovative and leading.- Board member of the Technology Coalition representing Yubo.- Board member of the Press Recognition Panel - Former member of the Expert Advisory Panel on Children’s Viewing for the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) and is a founding member of the digital industry’s ICT Coalition for Children Online in Europe.- Former board member of the UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS).
