I bring to the table more than 25 years of environmental legal and policy advocacy experience in not-for-profit, government, and law school clinical settings, and want to use all of it in service to environmental change makers. Over the years, my work has achieved multiple victories in litigation over powerful fossil fuel interests; California legislation that reins in the oil industry and protects communities from its harmful impacts; pollution control mandates on sewage treatment providers and others; and innovative approaches to implementation and defense of environmental review laws. In all of this work, I strive to put community and environmental justice impacts front and center, ensuring that environmental policy benefits the most vulnerable people affected by it. My work has been covered extensively in print and broadcast media, including The New York Times, Associated Press, Reuters, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, WBEZ, and Chicago Tonight. I have written more than 100 blog posts providing the news media and the public with clear and accessible explanations of environmental policy developments. My expertise can support communities, advocates, and environmental change makers in environmental law and legal matters, strategy development and implementation, drafting administrative comments and letters, analyzing and advocating on legislation, researching and writing environmental policy reports and white papers, writing blogs and other public-facing materials, and much more.
