I began to blog in January 2006 after discovering my friend Christa Forster's blog, Texta, online. I read her entire blog upon discovery, beginning with the earliest month and moving forward in time. She had started to blog the year before. It is beautiful writing. I then began my blog with the idea that I wanted to create a mixed-genre book live, online, in front of an audience. In early 2007, there was a new capacity to tag entries, so I began to tag by genre, an inexact practice, even in one's own writing. The entry dated January 1, 2007 called "Genre Markers" gives a good glimpse of my use of textual genres.I documented my mother's garden during the summer of 2007 by taking a photo early each morning of a flower or tree that had bloomed since the previous morning. Then a little later in the morning I showed my mother the photo and asked her to identify the plant by Latin and common names.There are a series of broadsides that I began to create in 2012 using Word to design graphic elements and text.Starting in 2010, I created a manuscript of short stories written since 2001. I had included on Ana Verse a few published short stories written before 2000. In the pages section of Ana Verse there is a description of entries by count that were not presently available for viewing. Seventy-four short story titles and sub-titles in two collections and one chapbook were reserved.As of October 20, 2014, the complete Ana Verse is viewable online.The Index shows all entries on Ana Verse since 2006 in order of most recent posting to earliest.Other histories are listed in the pages section as well.In 2009 and 2011, I designed and ordered desk copies of a print version of Ana Verse using software created by Blurb, Inc. The two volumes of Ana Verse are listed as private on the Blurb website. Their retail price is also what I paid for my copies.
