After 35 years of being a classroom teacher, I have retired from a very rewarding and successful career in the Marlboro Public Schools. There I proved that I was not only a distinguished professional through my knowledge and implementation of the curriculum but artistic, hands-on and an innovative thinker. My leadership qualities and "people skills' show I am confident, but approachable by students, teachers and parents alike. I have mentored many new hires with much success. My Project Based Learning Approach has now been adopted in many classrooms where teachers are encouraged to integrate curriculum through a theme. In 1989 and 2008, my district and colleagues awarded me "Teacher of the Year". I have always been very competitive and continue to love a challenge. Brainstorming ideas and watching them turn into tangible projects has been very exciting. Although now retired, I continue to share my expertise with teachers and parents from many districts, I tutor children in grades K-3 in remediation and enrichment and am a Mad Scientist for Mad Science of WNJ.
