I am an aeronautical engineer working at McLarens Aviation, an independent consultancy providing technical services to the aviation insurance market. I handle various insurance claims involving wide range of aircraft and engine types. On a day-to-day basis, I liaise with aviation underwriters and brokers, and with different parties that may be involved in the claims process including airline operators, manufacturers, MROs, airport authorities, aviation safety agencies, lawyers, ground handlers, etc. This role of an engineering consultant has allowed me to further develop my understanding of aircraft/engine technical documentation, damage assessment, safety and compliance, insurance contracts, and loss adjustments.I have had prior opportunity to work with a R&D firm on some interesting projects, which helped me gain an insight into design, operation and hardware integration of UAVs and radar systems.
