• Intellectual Property Management Organization - Managed the company’s global outside counsel patent application writing and prosecution activity, holding overall responsibility for a $20M+ outside counsel budget and leveraging data to drive continuous improvement across the IP function. Provided intellectual property-related due diligence and technology transfer agreement drafting and negotiation support for numerous merger and acquisition (M&A), joint venture, and minority equity sale and investment activities of the Boeing Commercial Airplanes business group, including the Boeing acquisitions of Jeppesen and Aviall. Supported business, strategy, and deal development groups while working with inside and outside counsel and cross-functional global teams. Assisted with post-closing management of acquired-party relationships, IP portfolios, and other integration matters. Developed IP strategies to create value and manage risks associated with new products and solutions and entering new markets while addressing structuring and governance considerations. Familiar with IP valuation methodologies.• Boeing Commercial Airplanes – Counseled a broad range of supply chain-related Intellectual Property and non-IP transaction issues, including non-binding letter of intent negotiations, complex contract interpretation analyses, and technology development agreement drafting. Worked closely with other company lawyers in addressing mixed intellectual property/general legal issues. Developed a thorough understanding of regulated product configuration and qualification processes and provided guidance on non-IP risk allocation and other legal matters. Counseled and assisted the BCA Product Development organization in revising and streamlining its form contracts to better support the quick closure of technology development partnership and collaboration contract negotiations.

• Supported the research chemist group of the Dow Central Research organization, working with PhD scientists on patenting their polymer and organic compound-related inventions to cultivate high quality IP assets. Negotiated patent licensing and non-disclosure agreements and conducted product/investment freedom to practice patent analyses. Demonstrated the ability to handle multiple priorities and make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment while showing strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including oral and written communications.
